Guide

Kilt Size Guide

A kilt that fits sits on the natural waist and falls near mid-knee. Take three measurements with a soft tape. Wear light clothes. Do not pull the tape tight.

Waist

Measure where the kilt will sit — usually higher than a pair of jeans. Keep the tape level all the way round. Note the number in inches or centimetres.

Hip

Measure around the fullest part of the seat. Stand with your feet together. Again, keep the tape level.

Length

Measure from the natural waist down to the middle of the kneecap, or to the length you prefer. Stand straight. Looking down shortens the reading.

Height and typical kilt length

[nk_kilt_height_table]

These lengths are a guide only. Where you wear the kilt on the waist changes the ideal drop. When unsure, send waist, seat, length and height.

What most buyers get wrong

They send a trouser waist size. Kilt waist sits higher. If you only have a jeans size, measure again before you order.
